Following the October Canada–EU Summit in Canada, this Vienna-based discussion will bring together policymakers, diplomats, business leaders and experts to assess what the Summit delivered—and what comes next.
Against a backdrop of geopolitical uncertainty and economic competition, Canada and the EU are seeking deeper cooperation on security and defence, trade, critical minerals, energy, technology, Ukraine and the Arctic.
The discussion will look beyond the Summit communiqué to ask which commitments matter, where progress was made, and where expectations remain unmet. It will also explore whether the Summit marked a shift toward a more strategic and operational Canada–EU partnership—and how governments, industry, academia and civil society can turn political commitments into practical cooperation.
This event will also be streamed live via https://www.da-vienna.ac.at/Live.
