DA alumna Livia Zampolini on her career since graduating from MAIS 19 in 2016
"In a time where might is considered to be right, and the power of the pen increasingly at risk of being overtaken by the sword, the protection and safeguarding of human rights is what helps us to preserve fundamental values and freedoms. While we might consider human rights to be inalienable, in reality they are incredibly fragile.
Held up only by our belief and commitment to them. My time at the Diplomatische Akademie Wien helped teach me this, and recognizing their fragility is what ultimately motivated me to work for the OSCE in the field of combating human trafficking. Trafficking in human beings is just one of the many human rights abuses facing the world today, but it is the only one where people are the product being sold.
I can’t think of a better problem to help solve."
